FECRIS was granted participatory status with the Council of Europe in 2005.
It is therefore part of the 400 international NGOs enjoying participatory status with the Council of Europe. They are the voice of civil society organized as the Conference of INGOs which federates local and national associations in each of the 47 member States. They represent a wide range of sectors and merge with all the stakeholders at all levels of governance, both public and private.
The Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe is the only civil society assembly that plays an institutional role within an international intergovernmental organization.
The Conference is part of the “quadrilogue” (Committee of Ministers, Parliamentary Assembly (PACE), Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, Conference of INGOs). It produces Resolutions and Recommendations.
FECRIS is active in relevant thematic Committees, Human Rights, Education and Culture in particular. They meet twice a year
